NaTURmerket from Petunia

Since Petunia challenged us to go hiking she also wanted to award the one that really took the challenge with this little... right, award! And I love the picture on this award. I guess it is of Petunia herself and her cute dog called Jølle.

If you haven't visited Petunia's blog yet I would really recommend you to go there. She takes a lot of beautiful photos. Even though she mainly writes in Norwegian I think you all would enjoy her photos.

Well, that will be all for today.

Da skal jeg gi meg for i kveld.

Kristin :)

A walk in the forrest / Skogstur

Saturday morning I walked the dogs and we went for a lovely hike in the forrest close-by. I brought my camera and hoped to get some nice snapshots. I love to see how the nature changes between the seasons, and now the summer is letting go and the autumn is taking over and I love to capture all those small signs of change.

I saw a lot of interesting things and I took maybe one hundred pictures, but I will show you only a few of them. I think it would be a killer to show you all of them in one go :)

Okey, this is not from the forrest, but from a garden in my neighbourhood. I just had to take a picture of them on my way back home. :)

We were so lucky with the weather because later in the day the rain started to pour down again. See how beautiful the sky was with all the clouds. I just love to see clouds!! This picture is taken from a viewpoint on top of the forrest.

Petunia has challenged us to go hiking. With these pictures I can show you that I took the challenge. They are my proof. Normally I go for a walk every day. But that is the same walk that takes me half hour. I don't see much exciting things on these trips. When I think of hiking I think of a trip that lasts longer and that takes me further away from home. To a place where I don't normally go. Hiking is in the nature.
Have a great evening.
Ha en flott kveld videre.

Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #43

New week, new sketch. Over on Just Christmas and Birthdaycards we have come to sketch #43 now. Wow! Time has really been flying by. The blog will soon celebrate it's 1 year blogoversary :)

Ny uke, ny skisse. :)

The sketch this week is made by me. It's a real simple one and I hope you will like it. Please join us with a card. If you don't feel like making a christmascard I'm sure there are plenty of birthdaycards you need to make ;) *wink* But when you think of it, it is less than four, yes 4, months to christmas so maybe a christmascard isn't all that out of season anyway?

My card is a result of using scraps. Yes, scraps. I have tidied up amongst old craft supplies and I found that I really need to use some of it instead of buying new stuff all the time. And to justify that I ordered some new papers and a new die the other day I decided to only use old supplies for some cards now.

The backgroundpaper is a piece of gift wrapping paper. I love to collect old wrappings but lately I've only collected and not used so my drawer is full. I never use them on presents only on other things, like cards :) The cute Santa is something I or someone in the family received on a present some years back in time. I've saved it for something special and have kind of forgotten about it. Now I decided to use it :) The green cardstock behind the Santa is emossed in white with a text stamp from KH Design. Both the green and the white cardstock are from my drawers with scraps. The lace is the only thing here that is kind of new. I bought it this year!! :)

:) On the inside I have used an old clothes-tag which I have painted with golden acrylic paint. I've written a text on it with white gel roller ("Merry Christmas to you and yours"). I've used more of the gift wrapping on both the sides, and I've cut out a white "diamond" with a Spellbinder die.
This is a close-up of the tag. Nærbilde av tag'en.
And my personal stamp and some more gift wrapping scrap on the back.

Today we have more chilly weather than we have had for a while. It was kind of an autumny feel
outside when I walked the dog this morning. We have had a lot of rain lately but today it's actually sunny. But colder! It's soon September so I guess we can't deny that it's autumn now. The summer is definetly over!
Men definitivt kaldere! Sukk!
Have a nice day everyone, and thanks for looking.

Card class / Kortkurs

I made this card for a birthdaycardclass last week. A girl turning 9 years wanted to have a cardclass with 11 others girls. She wanted something with animals, a purple card and a combination of friendship and birthdaycard.

I used Rachelle Anne Miller's stamp with a cute bunny and a birdie. The text says "Friendship is for the humans what the sun is for the flowers". That's a cute saying. The backgroundpapers are both from Doodlebug Designs. The butterfly is cut of with a die from QuicKutz. I embossed the text with white powder. The small dewdrops and the ribbon around the image are from my stash.

On the insides I put some tags in a pocket. On the lower right corner of the pocket I've stamped a text saying "You make me smile". The text on the right side, lower right corner says "For you".

The tag on the left is a calendar where you can write the month of the birthday. It says "It is your day today! Congratulations!". The tag on the right says "A regard to you because ........ Nice hug". Both these stamps are from Norsk Stempelblad.

I put the "handmade by"-stamp on the back and the girls could write their names on it if they wanted. Scrapmagasinet.no has made this stamp without a name on so I can use it in classes.

I always try to make the cards so the class will last for an hour. And always I end up having to stress the kids to work faster. I think I've made an simple card, but I always forget that the details will take quite a while to make. And this is happening even though I have cut everything to the right size, and stamped most of the texts, done the embossing and so on. I think I have to make all my cards for classes simpler yet. Hmmm!

Hmm!

It's Thursday today! Almost week-end, yeah!!

Male birthdaycard

This birthdaycard was made for a customer. She wanted a card for a man turning 70 years today. The man has always loved hunting so that's why I chose this imagestamp from KH Design. I've stamped the image on glossy paper with StazOn. The text says something like "Wishing you a great day" and I've embossed it in white with glitter. Around the text I've put a frame from Papirdesign. Also this one is embossed. Letters and numbers are QuicKutz alphabet (cookie cutters). I don't remember the name of it. I've put some Diamond Glaze on top to make it stand out more. Insides.

The left fold. I've used some stickers to decorate it.
The right fold. I've decorated with some rub-ons in the corners of the photo. Under the photo is a sticker.

I forgot to take a picture of the back of the card, but it was very simple, only with the green backgroundpaper and my personal stamp.

It's amazing how time flies. I have had some busy days. After the boys started school and activities the days are filling up and I haven't got a lot of time to do some crafting. This week-end I do hope to squeeze in some time to make some cards though. I really need to make a confirmation card for a boy which will have his confirmation next week-end. It's the son of some good friends of us. I still remember this boy as a baby! :)

Have a great afternoon where you are. It would be nice to hear from you. Thanks for looking. I promise to get better at visiting you blogs. I've been hopeless lately.

Hugs,
Kristin :)

Boys' birthdaycards

These cards I made yesterday. My youngest son was going to a party for two boys in his class, and the celebrated the day on the football-arena so they could see a game between the local club, Stabæk and the team from the other side of Oslo, Vålerenga. Stabæk won I my son and his classmates were satisfied :)

I made the backgroundpaper a long time ago, but I just haven't remembered to use it. Now I decided to make two really quick cards. The boy with the ball is a Panduro stamp. I received the images as a gift from Dorte (thank you, dear friend). The blue clip on top of the left side is there to stick some money as a gift for the birthdayboys.

I decorated the back with a fotball-stamps. It is meant to look as the ball is moving from the left to the right by bouncing on the circle at the bottom.

Gee, I am so tired today. I've had several late nights in a row. On Saturday I didn't go to bed until 3.15 a.m. and that is a bit to late for me...... I am just too old for late nights. I love to meet friends, but when I stay up late I am "damaged" for the whole next week.
The sun is shining right now. It really looked as if it was going to rain this morning so I'm quite surprised. Positively surprised :)

Another birthdaycard for a twin

This is the pink version of yesterday's blue card. I've also used a different font on the letters and numbers I printed from my computer, and a more girly border punch on the edges. My customer didn't like the way this font made the number zero, because it's got a line going through it, and this way it ressembles the Norwegian letter Ø. I did understand what she meant but couldn't do anything to solve it. I have sent the card in the mail and didn't have any time to send her something new. She wouldn't do anything herself to cover it up with something else.

The border punch is the famous Martha Stewart doily lace punch. I just love it. I've seen it on a lot of cards on several blogs but haven't been able to buy it myself, until last week. Then I finally was able to order it from Papirloftet. Jippey!!

Tonight we're going to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I hope the temperature will be nice so we can open up the doors to the terrace and still be warm enough.

Hugs to all of you from me!

Birthdaycard - JCBC #42

I have used this week's sketch on Just Christmas and Birthdaycards to make a birthdaycard one of my customers ordered. It is for a man turning 40 years, he is a twin and my customer wanted the card to be blue. The card for the other twin, who is a woman, is pink and I'll show it to you later.

I have made the background paper myself. I sprayed some glimmer mist on aquarelle paper and used a paintbrush and water to smudge it all out. Then I used several stamps to make a random pattern on the paper when everything had dried. This is the card from the side.
This is the card when it's opened up.Upper left panel. Upper right panels.
Close-up of the numbers. They are put on 3D-foam pads to stand out from the rest of the text.Lower left panels. Also here the numbers are put on 3D-foam pads.Lower right panel. Some space to write a personal message. The back of the card.
Hope your day will be a good one.
Hugs, Kristin :)

Wedding anniversary

My husband and I have been married for 15 happy years. To celebrate our big day we normally go out to a restaurant and have a nice meal together. This year we have decided to invite some friends over to our house and have a great time together and eat some nice food. Since our wedding anniversary is today, on a Thursday, we have postponed the celebration to Saturday. We are not doing anything special today at all. But I have made this cute card for my husband, and I will go out and buy him some flowers as well.

The cute owl is a stamp I received as a free-bee in a magazine. I just love it! I coloured it with Distress Inks. I have embossed the red background with blanc powder. The hearts are a stamp from Papirgleder. The text say "For you" and is a stamp from Norsk Stempelblad. The numbers are grunchboards from Tim Holz. I have coloured them using Distress Ink - Fired Brick. I've put some Royal Coat on top of the hearts on the owl and on the numbers. On the insides I've put some pieces of thin ricepaper. The arrow is grungeboard and it's coloured with Distress Ink - Aged Mahogany. I've glued a heart gem on top and put some Royal Coat on to make it stand out more. The picture make the arrow look almost black but it is red!! The text says "You make me smile!" and that is so true about my husband. He really makes me smile! I've written some nice words on the right side, and decorated with some doodles and a red gem (heart).
The back is decorated with some punched out hearts. I've dabbed them with some Distress Ink. The butterfly is a gem from my stash. The text is handwritten and says "Made specially for you by your wife". Another red heart gem on top of one of the hearts.

I've been a little bit lazy lately. I've read lots of books but haven't made all the cards I should have. Well, actually that's not completely true. I have made some cards for customers. Three cards to be excact. I just don't want to show them yet. I will show you the first one tomorrow though.

We are now back to normal. The boys are back to schools, my oldest one started in a new one. He is in 8th grade and they all have to go to new schools here in Norway. My youngest son will still have two more years on his school. He started 6th grade this year. It's amazing that my own boys are so old now. I can't understand where the time went.
Hope you all are doing great out there in blogland. I will try to find some time to visit you all sometime soon. I've really been a bad blogger this summer, but I will find some time to get back to normal now that my days are more of my normal routine.
Hugs, Kristin :)

In my mailbox

My very good blog-friend Dorte sent me all these great images and crocheted flowers. And look at the beautiful card she made for me!!

I won Aud Kirsten's blog candy in June!! Look at all the great stuff I received!
Have a great day everyone!

Art Pieces #32

Doodling. That's the theme of this week's challenge on Art Pieces.

I've doodled some swirls around this girl which I downloaded from The Vintage Moth. Paper from my scrap box. I've glued some small gems to some of the swirls.

Today I will have a relaxed day at home. My sons and husband are all out of the house and I can sit down and make some birthdaycards. A customer called me the other day and ordered two cards, so I have some work to do :)

Christeningcard for a boy

A customer ordered a christeningcard for her grandson. I wanted to try this special type of card. I drew the shape myself :) The background is the same as on the ATC I made for Art Pieces. Or I actually made it for this card!
The text on the upper label is a stamp from Lissie Design. The name and the date are stamped with letterstamps from Panduro. Flowers from stash. Metallbear from Kort & Godt Hobby. QuicKutz-swirls. Close-up of the charm.

When you open the card this is what you see.

A poem on the top page. The poem is written by a Norwegian author, Inger Hagerup.

I've made some space for the customer to write a personal message on the lower page.

Really simple back, with a personal stamp from Papirgleder.

I hope the customer is satisfied with the result. I shall send it to her tomorrow.

Have a great evening.

Hugs, Kristin :)
