Another christmascard. I have used a sketch from Katharina Frei. It is very easy to work with. I have used stamps from Marits Verden, Ladybug and Friends, and Norsk Stempelblad. Distress Ink is used to colour in. Papers from Papirdesign. Tree stamp from Ademio on the insert sheet.

And again a really simple back!

Tomorrow it's the big day in Norway and many other countries celebrating Christmas Eve. We are going to open all our presents after eating one of the best meals during the year, Pinnekjøtt (ribs from sheep, salted and dried, then boiled). It's my husband who is used to this tradition but I have adopted it without any problems. It is much better than the meal I was used to, Svineribbe (ribs from pig).

I hope you all will have a great day. Me and my family will put up our christmastree tonight!
Hugs to you all,
Kristin :)

Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #12

It is time for Rheannon's sketch over at JCBC. We have come to week 12, and christmas eve is only a couple of days away.

Even though Christmas is soon upon us we are not giving up the goal to make one christmascard and one birthdaycard each week. I am actually looking forward to giving my christmascardstack a jump-start for next christmas :) I hope you all will join our challenge each week!!

My birthdaycard this week is made with a Magnolia image I got from sweet Marte. The text and the frame is from Papirdesign. The lace is from my stash and I have coloured it purple using distress ink. Paper from Bo Bunny.Inside I have used one of my favourite textstamps for the moment, it's from Else Irene Mehling. Same dp's as on front. Back made easy with my personal stamp from Scrapmagasinet.

My christmascard is made with this gorgeous santa stamp again. I have rotated the sketch to make it fit my image. Paper from Autumn Leaves. The presents are a stamp from Kort&Godt Hobby where I have cut out two of the presents to make them fit the available space on my card.

Inside, with a text stamp from Whiff of Joy.

And the back, with my personal stamp.

Unfortunately I woke up this morning not feeling well. Hopefully I'll be better tomorrow :) Today I just have to take it easy. Lucky for me that I was doing a lot of housework yesterday. I have decorated the whole house for Christmas now. It's only the tree left and we always leave that till the 23rd December.

I might send my last christmascards today. I know, I know I am really late sending them!! It's just that I haven't had the time to make those last cards till now, and they had to be really simple ones. But at least they are homemade! I'll show you the cards some other day!
I hope you all will have a great Monday and that you'll enjoy the last preparations for christmas.
Hugs, Kristin :)

Christmascard with gingerbread recipe

I must admit that this card is not entirely my idea. I have copied a card from my shop. I have a lady decorating my shop with her cards and holding card-classes every now and then. After one of her classes one of the models was laying on the counter and a customer fell in love with it. She kindly asked me to sell it to her, but of course I had to refuse :) Instead I offered me to make a couple of similar cards for her to buy.

Since I have troubles with copying others' cards I tried to make some differencies in the ones I was making. Still the card is very similar with the one my friend made. Her card is really much prettier than mine!!!
On the back of my card I have put Designed by Gro Seip, since I just couldn't put my name alone!

I have used stamps from Marits Verden, Ladybug and Friends and KH Design.
Papers from Papirdesign.
I have coloured in using Distress Ink.Have a great Saturday all of you visiting my blog. Now it's only 4 more days until Christmas Eve!

Hugs, Kristin :)

Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #11 and Awards

I know, I know!! I am soooo late posting these cards! It's just been no time left for blogging, cardmaking and taking pictures of the cards I have made. But finally I have some spare time to jot down something here on my blog for all of my dear blogging friends to read :)

The first card is a birthdaycard using Gry-Heidi's great sketch for Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #11. I had a great time using the sketch (when I finally had the time to sit down with cardmaking). I have used the beautiful stamp of Herb from Whiff of Joy (which I am starting to sell from my shop now, ). The text stamp is from Ditten & Datten and is also sold in my shop. The paper is from Papirdesign, also sold in my shop. Flowers from Prima, also sold in my shop.
I have to say; if you can't find it in my web-shop it will still be in the shop in Hosle, just call me if you want it!! Inside I have used a text stamp from Kort i hodet. The border on the right side is from Ademio (also sold in my shop).
The back was made super-easy. I just didn't have the time to think a lot! :)

My Christmascard is made with paper from 3ndypapir, textstamp from Ditten & Datten, and the beautiful Christmas Angel from Whiff of Joy. You can find everything in my shop in Hosle now. As I have said earlier on, please contact me if you want something that I still haven't had the time to put in the web-shop yet. I will send it to you anyway :)
Insides with place for a picture on the left side, and a border using a stamp from Ademio on the right side.
The back, using my beautiful personal stamp from Scrapmagasinet.
On both the cards I have coloured in using pencils. I didn't have my distress inks or Twinkling H20 on hand when I was making the cards.

I have received a couple of awards lately.

From Holly I received this award:

It is such an honour to receive it, and I am thrilled that you thought of me, Holly! I am supposed to give it to some other bloggers, but first I will mention my other awards! :)

From Bente I received this one:

The rules for this award:

2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the pepople you've nominated.

I will nominate some great blogs but first I will mention my last award! :)

From Eba I received this beauty:

3. Put a link on your blog to those blogs you give it to.
4. Give the blogs you give the award to a note that you have given them this award.

I'm addicted to: My family, my camera, music, cardmaking, a relaxed life.

I'm in short of time so I am actually doing it really simple for myself so I WILL GIVE ALL THESE AWARDS TO THESE FANTASTIC WOMEN;
Thanks for the weeks we have had together in Just Christmas and Birthdaycards. I have had a fantastic time!! I am looking forward to a new year with JCBC's weekly challenges :)
Have a nice week-end everyone!

Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #10

First of all I want to thank each and everyone who has left me a birthdaygreeting!!! It has been so nice to read all your comments!! I love the cards I received from some of you, both handmade and eCards. Thank you, thank you!!! You made my day!!

I must say my sweet husband gave me one of the best presents. He gave me a new lens for my camera, a 50 mm, f/1.4!!! It is really good to work with. Love it completely! I have this lens on my wishlist for several years and finally I've got it. I'll show you pictures I've taken with it later on. :)

It is Monday and time for a new sketch on Just Christmas and Birthdaycards. Today I've made the sketch :) It will be fun to see what you, gals, will come up with using it!!

My christmascard looks like this. I've finally used this beautiful Santa-stamp again. I've had it for ages but only made one card with it! He is really big so I had to cut him out to still have space left to put on some decorations on the card. I've coloured him in using Twinkling H20.
The papers are from Ladybug and friends, and from Doodlebug Design. Swirlstamp from Stempelglede. Punched out some hearts covered with red glitter on the edges.

On the insert sheet I have stamped Stempelglede's swirl.
Easy back, with paper from Doodlebug Design.

My birthdaycard is made with an image that Karin sent to me (Thank you!!!) I love the motif, and it is quite summery. I have coloured in using a mix of Distress Ink and Twinkling H20. The card is made of Bazzill, but the design paper and both the pink cardstock are from unknown producers. On the pink cardstock I have embossed using Fiskars' embossing pad. I have used buttons from Panduro with Scrapper's floss tied on them. Text stamp ("Birthday") from Kort i hodet.

Inside I have decorated the insert sheet with leaves from Magnolia and text stamp ("Have a lovely day!") from Kort i hodet.

Back made easy.

Today it is snowing outside. Light snowflakes, but it looks like it might change to wet snow later in the day :( My dog, a Siberian Husky, loves to play in the snow and it is so fun to bring her outside now. My husband took her skiing yesterday morning and she loves to do this.

Well, I hope you all will have a great day!

Hugs, Kristin :)

My birthday and a friendshipcard

Today's my birthday!! Hurray for myself!! I have had a couple of calls and sms' from familymembers. I have also unwrapped some presents, and I was so lucky to get some really great stuff. My husband and sons have told me that I won't get the presents from them until later today. I am soo excited :)

I'll show you a card I have made for a very good blogging friend. The text on the front translates "Life is great with a friend like you!". Inside, on the tag the text says "Just want to say hello!" The image I received from Vanessa. I love this girl from Sugar Nellie.
Stamps: Ditten & Datten (texts), Sugar Nellie (girl), Scrapmagasinet (personal stamp)
Papers/Cardstock: Papirdesign (both), Cardstock (brown)
Misc.: Ribbon (American crafts), flowers (Prima), Distress Ink
I hope you all have a great day!
Hugs, Kristin :)

Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #9 again

This is my birthdaycard using Amanda's sketch for this week's challenge over at Just Christmas and Birthdaycards. I haven't had the time to make it before now :)

The text on front says: You have birthday! The text on the left side says: Hurray for you who has a birthday, yes, you we want to celebrate... (it's a Norwegian birthdaysong)

I have used:
Stamps: Cuddly Buddly (boy), Else Irene Mehling (text inside), Kort i hodet (text on the front), ScrapMagasinet (personal stamp), Prima (corner)
Papers/Cardstock: Doodlebug Design, Bazzill Bling, aquarelle paper (unknown)
Misc.: QK (cookie cutter scalloped circle), gems from stash, ribbon (American Crafts)
It's Friday today, and I should have made something for Sukkersøtt. But not this week either. I just didn't have any idea how to make a pink christmascard fit into my plans this week. I have to concentrate on other projects. My mother-in-law is turning 70 next week-end and I'm trying to make a card for her. Not only a plain card, but an "accordion-mini-album" with pictures in. I have just started and have most of the job left.
On top of that I have to make a card for my sister-in-law who has her birthday next week-end as well. And then I have to make some bags or boxes for a children-birthday-class I'm having in my shop Friday next week. I haven't started on these projects yet *sigh*. Busy-busy-busy.
Well, now I have to leave for work. Have a nice day everyone!
Hugs, Kristin :)

Thursday, December 04, 2008

A customer called me one day to order a card for a man turning 70. The birthday"boy" is a man eager on running all year and during the winter he loves to go skiing as well. My customer had known this man for a very long time but didn't know of anything else he actually cared for doing. To get an idea of how the receiver of a card is I always ask of interests and colours they think of when they think of the receiver (that was hard to explain but I hope you understood the meaning anyway :) ). The colours of a person is important to me to know where to start making a card. This time I got the colour grey. Not the best or most interesting colour. And I didn't want the card to become to dark or dull.

Here is my result:
The text stamp on the inside says "One year older, but still young in body and soul".

I made an envelope to go with the card, and decorated the front of it:
Stamps: KH Design (man), Ladybug & Friends (swirl embossed in clear on the front), Aud Design (text inside), Prima (corner), Papirdesign (text on front, swirl under text on front)
Paper/cardstock: Bazzill Bling (black), Bazzill Corduroy (grey and black), Papirdesign (white with ornaments), plain black on envelope (unknown)
Misc.: QK-alphabet (Studio), gems from stash
My birthday is only two days away now, and I am really excited how my day will be. My husband has told me that I wont receive any present from him or my boys before I have been to work. But I have already received some presents in the mail, and I am sooooo looking forward to see what's in them. I'll open those in the morning before I go to work!!! I'm just like a kid when it comes to expectations for my birthday. It's something about it being my day.
Well, that's it for today!
Hugs, Kristin :)

Christmascard with happy gingerbreadman

This is one of the cards I made for the Christmas bazaar my sons' school band had last weekend. I wanted to make a quick card, and I just love this stamp with the gingerbreadman on so I wanted to use it. He is really cheerful. The textstamp is a recipe on gingercookies.
Stamps: Penny Black (gingerbreadman), Ladybug and friends (recipe), Papirgleder (personal), Ademio (leaves and berries)
Paper/cardstock: Papirdesign, Cardsctock
Misc.: Norsk Stempelblad (rub-ons), Distress Ink
Have a great day!! The snow is coming again here where I live!
Hugs, Kristin :)

Whiff of Joy Challenges - #10

This week's challenge over at Whiff of Joy Challenges is "Anything but a card". I have made a bookmark. Suddenly I remembered that it would be nice to give a bookmark together with the books I'm giving a friend for Christmas. And no other stamp than "Melinda reading book" could be used for this project :)

I have used designpaper from 3ndy papir. Swirlstamp on the edges is from Stempelglede's Grunge Collection. The letters are stamps from Love, Elsie (Lola). Ribbon from stash. The tag is a stamp from Kort & Godt Hobby.

I stamped the receiver's name on the back.
This was a fun and easy project. I'm working on several other projects but it seems like I never get the time to finish them up :) But I will be back tomorrow to show you another card anyway. Last week I made some cards that were sold on the Christmas bazaar for my boys' school band. And I haven't shown you all of them yet.
See you!
Hugs, Kristin :)

Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #9

It's Monday and time for another sketch in Just Christmas and Birthdaycards challenge blog this week. It is Amanda who has made the sketch this time. It was a fun challenge to make a christmascard out of it. I haven't even started my birthdaycard, but I'll do a bit later this week.

I have used design paper from Papirgleder. The image with the tree and christmas carol is a stamp from Kort & Godt Hobby. The ribbon is from my stash. The flowers are from my stash as well (the golden one at the back is from an old decoration :) ). The big red brads are from American Crafts I think. I have used a black rub-on text from Norsk Stempelblad, but on the photo it looks almost white.

I made the insides with an insert sheet decorated with a tree stamp from Ademio. The back is really simple, only with my personal stamp.
There's no problem making a card when I make the insides and the back as simple as I have done here. It doesn't take several hours anymore :)

Have a great day all of you out there in blogland. I hope you are doing well! It would be really nice if you left me some words about your day :)

Hugs, Kristin :)

This is my christmascard using Janina's sketch in JCBC's blog.

Image from Marits Verden. Designpaper from Papirgleder. Rub-on text from Norsk Stempelblad. Tree stamp from Ademio.
Personal stamp from Papirgleder.
That's just a quick post before I will sit down to watch a movie with my beloved husband :)
