Scrapping the music - på norsk! Bonus #1

Scrapping the music - på norsk! has a great Bonus-challenge going on. It is ending tomorrow, 12 midnight, so you'll still have time to do something!!!

I've had this song by Bjørn Eidsvåg (a Norwegian song writer) in my head for a long time now. It is called "D e du de" which translates "That is you" and is about the relationship between two people who know each other and still loves each other even though they have sides the other one doesn't like.

My husband and I have known each other for 19 years and we have had our ups and down, but still we stick together and we love each other. It seems like we get better for each year passing. I love my husband, and am amazed that he still loves me even though I have acted horrible, and sometimes can be really selfish, and just plain disgusting. This lay-out is for him to thank him for coping with me!

I have written small pieces of the lyrics around on the lay-out. (You can find the whole song here.) The pictures were originally in colours but I changed them to black & white because they went better together this way. And I love b&w-pics.
This is a bit of the lyrics, it is written in Bjørn Eidsvåg's dialect (from Bergen), and it translates: "One could believe the heaven had sent you, the best thing that ever happened to me".The embellishment. The gem flower is stuck with a Ka-Jinker. Fun to use, but difficult!

I have had a busy week. A lot to do both at job and at home. Haven't had much time to make anything crafty, except this lay-out. I still have a lot of cards I have to make so I hope everything will slow down soon. Next week I'll have a class in my shop so I have to at least make some models for that.

Tomorrow my whole family are going on a trip by car. We are going to visit someone who has puppies for sale.... Yes, we do have a dog already, but we would love to have another one :) But tomorrow we'll just have a look!! I'll take some pics!

Have a great week-end!

Hugs, Kristin :)

Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #16

There is a new sketch for you in JCBC's blog today! Go over and check out the great sketch Mada made for all of us! It is an easy to work with sketch, well, at least I thought so. I had a great time making my two cards.

The image on my christmascard I've had for a while. I borrowed some stamps from a friend of mine and I coloured it in as well, but then I didn't use it. Now I found it I wanted to use it on this card. It is such a jolly snowman that it makes me smile when I look at it :)
The christmasdecorations on the left are also stamps from my friend.
The text is a stamp from KH Design.
Papers from Doodlebug Design. Insides made easy.
And a really simple back.
I have used an image from the very same friend on my birthdaycard as well. It was a breeze to make these cards since I've got the images already coloured in. Then I just have to match up the papers and cardstock with the colours I've used on the image.
Papers from unknown. Text from Ditten & Datten. Cardstock is Bazzill Bling. Gems and ribbon from my stash.
Insides made easy again.
And the same with the back.

I hope you have enjoyed my cards. I am happy to have you as my visitor :) Thanks for looking!
Have a great Monday!

Yesterday I just had to bring my camera outside to take some pictures of all the snow that we've got since Friday. Most of it came on Sunday. It was nice and cold, but yesterday it started to turn into warmer wheather and snow got wetter. I just had to take some pictures of the snow before it disappeared. The pictures are taken late in the evening.

Have a great day!

Whiff of Joy Challenges - #14

On Whiff of Joy challenges this week we are asked to make the colours Purple & Green. My card is made entirely with purlple and green, but it does look as though some of the light green is more yellow in the picture or some places even white. I guess the flash is making it difficult to see the colours correctly.

I have used both text and images from Whiff of Joy. On the dark green panel on the left I have stamped some figures with Versamark. On the light green panel on the right I have stamped a figure with Distress Ink (Vintage Photo) but you can hardly see it on the photo.
I have put some glitterglue on the small light-green hearts on top of the big dark-green and purple hearts, and also on the dark-green small hearts at the bottom. The insides are decorated with some punched out hearts.

I have also used some hearts on the back.

Well, this was my entry for the colour challenge on Whiff of Joy challenges. I hope you liked it.

Hugs, Kristin :)

ABC Challenge - W is for wallet-card

Finally I found some time to join the ABC Challenges again. This week it is W's turn, and they have wallet-card as the challenge.

I have used the sweet stamp "Oakley with hot chocolate" from Whiff of Joy as the image. I love this image. The text stamp is also from Whiff of Joy. The papers are from 3ndypapir, their christmascollection.

The swirls above the text is a rhinestone sticker from Panduro. The gems in the corners are from my stash. Inside I have made the folders to put a tag inside on the right side and some images on the left side.
On the back I have used an image which I tore out of some of the scraps from the papers I used on the card.

I started to make this card for the Sukkersøtt challenge last week (Vintage). But I didn't have enough time to finish the card on time, so then I decided to use it for the ABC Challenge. I am not entirely satisfied with it but I just couldn't put my finger on what I could do to make it better.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I love all the visits and the comments I get from you!
Hugs, Kristin

Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #15

Monday again, and a new sketch over at JCBC. Sweet Simone has made the sketch this time. I must say I wasn't very pleased when I first saw the sketch (sorry Simone), but you know, I think it ended up not so bad! I just had to work on layers and embellishments more than I am used to and comfortable with, but I think the challenge in making something out of this sketch was good for me. And I actually had fun making both my cards :) So thank you Simone for making this challenging sketch!

I have used one of the lovely stamps from Whiff of Joy. The calendar stamp is from Norsk Stempelblad. Paper from Basic Grey. I have embossed the dark green cardstock with an QK-folder. Button, gems, flower and lace from stash. Punched out hearts in two different sizes. The white paper is from my drawing book.

I have used the last scraps of the Basic Grey paper to decorate the back.

My christmascard with an image from Panduro (I received it from Dorte). I have heat embossed white snowflakes on the red cardstock, and on the green cardstock I have dry embossed some snowflakes and then wiped my distress ink pad over it to make them show better. The tag is stamped with a text stamp from Papirgleder. The snowflake and the snowman are buttons from my stash. Paper from DCWV. Letter stamps from Panduro to write the text (Merry christmas 2009).

I made the insides really simple with punched out stars and red cardstock.

The back with another star and my personal stamp.

We had snow falling all yesterday and now it is enough for the kids to play a lot and to go skiing. We had to shuffle snow from our driveway three times in order to keep it okey. My dog loves to play and jump in the snow and is eager to go outside. I am eager to bring my camera outdoors to take some nice winterpictures. Hopefully it will not change to rain because then it will turn into icey roads, and the snow from the trees will disappear.

Well, that's all for now, ladies. I hope you'll have a great start on the new week!
Hugs, Kristin :)

Penny Black Saturday challenge #31

Wow, it's been ages since I had the time to make a card for PBSC!!! But finally I found some extra time to enjoy a challenge here again. This week it's a colour scheme; pink and brown. I really like this combination but seldom use it. Maybe I should try to use it more often?

I have used a text stamp from PB and I have made a background of it on pink cardstock. The butterfly is from Anita's, it's coloured in using Twinkling H20. I have embossed the brown cardstock with an embossing folder from QK. The scalloped circle is also from QK. Ribbon from my stash. Inside with punched out stars on pink squares.

That's all I have to show you now! Hope you all are still doing great! Remember; Smile, and the whole world smiles to you!

Hugs and smiles from me to you!

This is a bookmark I made as an extra gift to go with a book I gave a boy for christmas. I almost forgot to take a picture of it and had the book giftwrapped when I remembered. I really wanted to take a picture of it so I opened the whole present, took these pictures and the wrapped the book with new giftwrapping. If my husband knew this he would have said I was a bit weird!! Or maybe not just a bit....

The stamp is from Tove Design. Letters are QK-Metro, it says "Good book".More QK letters. It says "Even's bookmark".
Today I have a day off from work. I have to do a lot of things at home, but hopefully I'll have some spare time to sit down in my craftsroom as well. I have a couple of cards I have to finish.

Have a nice Thursday everyone!!
Hugs, Kristin :)

I have used both image and text stamp from Whiff of Joy. The paper is Basic Grey. Buttons from my stash.Insides:

Enjoy your evening! I'm going back to my big project for the moment; to put all my unmounted stamps in binders.

Caroline's blog candy

Blog candy in CarolinesGlede's blog. It's a lot of stuff to win and you have the chance to do so before it ends tomorrow, Wednesday 14th January, 6 pm CET.

I had actually planned to show you my christmascard for this week's challenge over at JCBC, but do you think I remembered to bring my camera today?!? Nooooo. I took some pictures of the card yesterday but didn't have my computer then, so I thought I should bring my camera to work and download the pictures now. But as you understand I forgot the darn thing!

Well, that aside, I do have some other project I can show you instead! And they have to do with christmas, both of them!

This is a box I made for a girl's birthdayparty-class just before christmas. I was asked to make something the girls could giveaway for christmas but not a christmas-card. The mother asked for a box or a bag or something like that because then the girls could put a small gift inside it for a girlfriend.

The box is made out of template. I had drawn the whole thing on the cardbord for the girls to cut out. I had even made score-lines where they were supposed to fold. After they had glued the box together they decorated it like this one. I made them rip the papers and it seemed like they found that a bit difficult because they were afraid to rip the wrong places. But it all ended well!

One side...
The other side... (the text says "Don't look before Christmas Eve!")

The other project was a bag, one of those plain brown ones. I made them decorate it like this on the front...
... and this on the other side...

This was an easy project for the girls. Except cutting out the girl on the front :)

Hope you enjoyed my projects even though it's past christmas now. Thanks for looking!
Kristin :)
