Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #51

This is the card I made for my mother-in-law. The picture is her, age appr. 20 years.

I used the sketch from Just Christmas and Birthdaycards' challenge #51 (my sketch). I've been to busy to post it before, but here it is!

Have a great afternoon.

My nephew's birthdaycard

I made this card for my youngest nephew. He turned 8 years a couple of weeks ago. The stamp of the lion I gave him for Christmas (not mine, but a new one) since his name is Leo. Hopefully he can use the stamp on some birthdaycards for friends.

Today we are getting even more snow. Since Christmas Eve we've received approx. 30 cm or so. It's lovely outside now. It is so much better when it's snow out there because it is so much lighter even though it's dark. But I must admit that snow and winter are not my favorites.

I hope you are doing great. There are still more days left of the holidays to relax and I hope you are able to enjoy these days.

Hugs, Kristin :)

My youngest son's birthdaycard

When my youngest son turned 11 in end of November I made this card for him. It's pretty much a copy of the card I made for his elder brother. I just couldn't make two completely different cards, but they couldn't be totally alike either.

This is the front of the card.

This is how it is when you open it up. On the right there's space to write a personal message.

This is the back of the card.

This is the other side of it. The card has a total of six pages to decorate. :)

The card when it's open from one side.

The card when it's open on the other side.

Today has been a very relaxing day. I have been mostly indoors, but has also enjoyed the snow we got yesterday. When you've got dogs you just can't stay indoor the whole day, you know. :)

I have eaten so much nice food the last two days and even though it's soon bed time my stomach is so full. Normally I hardly eat after dinner, but today I've eaten a lot of cookies and sweets and fruit. I will have to roll instead of walking if I continue like this the next days of the holidays. I know there will be more yummy food coming up!

I guess some of you already know that I will close down my shop in Hosle in January. I haven't said it out loud here in my blog but I guess the ones visiting my webshop has noticed the sale I've had there for the last couple of months. Once I announced the sale I had tons of orders coming in and since I'm alone packing everything it's been hard for me to help all the customers as fast as I would have wished for. On top of that I've started to work part time in a women's clothes shop so I haven't had time to pack my orders every day.

It was hard for me to come to the conclusion that I just had to close down my shop. I've used days, weeks, months to tell myself that I would be better off closing it down. Even though that meant that I had to abandon my dream. My old dream of being a shop owner, being my own boss. My dream of being a successfull shop owner. I have failed big time and it really hurts to realize that I just don't have what it takes to create something big from scratch. I'm a big failure!

Those have been my thoughts for a long time now. I think maybe I'm not totally at the bottom anymore, mentally I mean. I have worked myself some inches upwards, but there's a long way up to the top where I used to be. On my way up I will have to shed all the weight I've gained both physically and mentally. I know that my journey back to the top will be hard and I guess I will fall down again, but hopefully I want fall all the way down to the bottom again.

So, my dear blog friends, by being this honest to you all, I hope I will be able to give you more of myself when it comes to creativity too. I know I will have to struggle with my business for the next couple of years, tax wise I mean. But hopefully I will free up some time to enjoy life and creativity more than I have been for the last years. I really look forward to show you what I create.

Thanks for looking and reading, and thanks for being there for me.

Enjoy life where you are.

Hugs, Kristin :)

Invitation and placecard

This is the invitation I made for my big birthdayparty in beginning of December. I wanted to celebrate myself and I wanted to make an invitiation for my own birthdayparty. I have made so many invitations for others but this was first time making something for myself.

On the right side I stuck the printed invitation. I forgot to take a photo of it after I had printed it.

The back, with my personal stamp.

This is all the invitations I made.

This is the placecard. I made them the day the party was and when I sat there my husband asked me if it was neccessary to have placecards. Duh, yes, of course. I'm having a party and I have been looking forward to making this for my own party!!!! Such a silly question!!

Details of the embellishment.

Today I'm going to decorate the rest of my house. My sons and I decorated the tree on Monday evening and it's so nice to feel the Christmas spirit coming to the house. Yesterday my sons decorated the gingerbread house we made last Sunday. I'm so proud of having such big boys now, because it's so nice when they are able to help and manage alone and do a great job! I can just help them start a job and then they will finish it without me around.

I can't promise to be back on the blog for the next day or so. Tomorrow I will work from 10.00 till 13.00, and after that I will relax and celebrate Christmas Eve. I doubt I will sit down in front of the computer.

Hugs, Kristin :)

Just Christmas and Birthdaycards #52

I've used Andrea's lovely sketch to make this birthdaycard for a boy turning 13 years.

If you want to join us with a birthdaycard or a christmascard please hop over to Just Christmas and Birthdaycard's challengeblog. You can win some lovely digi-stamps!

On one of the insides I've made a pocket to put some money in.
On the back I've used my brand new personal stamp that I ordered from Scrapmagasinet. I simply love it!

It's only three more days until Christmas Eve. I'm reallly looking forward to the dinner that special day; ribs of lamb (pinnekjøtt). Yum! My husband always prepares this meal while I decorate the table. I love the relaxed time before the meal and we can feel how eager the kids are to open their presents, but they know that they have to wait till after the desert before they can lay their hands on any of the gifts.

Have a lovely Monday and thanks for looking.

Hugs, Kristin :)

Christmascard again

Yet another simple christmascard for the christmas-bazaar that was held last Sunday. Hopefully someone liked it and bought it. :)

I celebrated my own 40th birthday this weekend. It was so nice to have a lot of friends over for a nice dinner. We sat for hours just talking and eating. I got some really nice gifts and a lot of homemade beautiful cards!! I really love receiving homemade cards!! Of course I loved the presents I received as well :)

I haven't been feeling well lately. My sinuses are complaining and I feel kind of stuffed. On top of that my back is hurting and it is painfull to stand up. But I will not be able to relax for some days. I have to get all the christmaspresents ready to post them. I love the Christmas season, but it does give us a lot of extra things to do. We all have such high expectations for this season!

Well, have a great day and thanks for looking.

Another christmascard

Yes, it's another christmascard! Also this card is made for the christmas bazaar my boys' school band is holding this week-end. I have actually thought maybe I should just buy all the cards I give to the bazaar. They (the band) get their money and I get some more cards to send to friends. :) Smart?!

We have got even colder weather today than yesterday. Minus 8 degrees Celsius!! COLD!

Have a great day, and thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday to Marte

I know a sweet girl, or maybe I can call her a young lady, who is turning 25 today. I want to wish her a very happy birthday and I hope she will enjoy her day. I know her sweet fiancé has planned a very special treat for her today and I'm sure the day will be a day she'll remember with pleasure! He asked me to make a card he can give her today and it was fun to make a card for a special crafting friend. It was kind of scary too, because I know my friend is a very good cardmaker herself.

December came with cold weather. We had minus 4 degrees Celsius this morning and I had to wrap myself up a bit more this morning when I walked the dogs. I will have to scrape ice from the car windows when I leave for work.

Have a great day, and thanks for looking.

Hugs, Kristin :)
